Glendale

Glenn Arthur Hare passed away on January 4, 2025 from natural causes at age 97 in Glendale, Arizona. Born on December 21, 1927, in East Cleveland, Ohio, Glenn is the last of the Ira and Mary Hare family and is preceded in death by his 3 sisters and 4 brothers. He joins his beloved wife Marie Hare (nee Prizzi), who preceded him in 1981 at age 51, and his beloved partner of 40 years Charlotte McCullough (nee LaChapelle), who preceded him in January of 2022 at 100 years old.

After graduating from high school, Glenn enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 17 during World War II, where he served as a telephone line repairman, working on telephone lines in Rome, Italy. Upon returning home, Glenn spent 43 years with the Bell Telephone Systems in Ohio and Florida. He was a proud lineman and climbed poles for many, many years.

Glenn had four children, Dennis (Lorinda Teter), Marybeth Cieplinski (Dan), Nancy Cross (Ken), and Daniel, who preceded him in death in June of 2023, and one step-son, Gerry McCullough (Kate). He leaves behind four granddaughters, Kristi Marie Machado (Gabriel), Katherine Cieplinski, Kaylee Acree (Adam), and Christina McCullough as well as two grandsons, Jacob Glenn Cieplinski and Justin McCullough (Karissa). Additionally, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Boys Town USA, Glenn leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity. In honor of his spirit, the family encourages donations to a charity that holds personal meaning to you. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In a final letter to his family, Glenn left these parting words: “No tears, I had a great time!”
