Gloria T. Schafer

Gloria T. Schafer, born on March 26, 1947, left us to be with the angels in heaven on May 30, 2024, surrounded by family in Phoenix, Arizona.

She is survived by her two sons Shaun and Matthew and husband Mark Schafer.  Gloria was born and raised in Arizona by her mother Maria T. and Oscar B. Amaral. She was raised with her siblings Mary Alice Guzman, Oscar Amaral, Jr., and Alejo Amaral. She was preceded in death by Georgina Castorena, Maria Sylvia Amaral and Clara Nelson.

Gloria loved children and was a preschool teacher.  After her retirement she was a stay at home mom to be with her family. She loved her animals and rescued numerous dogs, cats, birds, and turtles. 

Gloria's spirit and memory will be cherished and kept alive by all her loved ones.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85008.
