Ann Rita Goldenetz

Passed away peacefully on February 8, 2016 at the Gardens of Scottsdale, a senior living community. She was 91 years old.   She was born in Manhattan, New York on December 23, 1924 and moved to Brooklyn with her family when she was 11 years old. She attended Franklin K. Lane High School, Hefley and Brown Secretarial School, then worked for American Airlines and the Office of War Information in the New York Office. Ann moved to Phoenix, Arizona in her early 20’s and went to work for the Goldenetz Printing Company. Ann and James Goldenetz were married October 15, 1947. Over the years, Ann worked for Pratt Gilbert Hardware Co. and Motorola Research and Development. While working at Motorola, Ann earned an Associate Degree in Process Engineering.   Ann was preceded in death by her husband, James Walter, and her daughter, Mary Anne Elizabeth Goldenetz. She is survived by three sons, James Dennis (Judy), Thomas Paul (Vicki) and Timothy Glenn (Mary Ellen) and her daughter Kathleen Musgrave (Elmer), as well as her grandchildren, Jeremy Goldenetz, Jolie Dollar, John and Josh Samuels, Will and Wes Goldenetz and her great grandchildren, Jeremy Jr. and Trevor Goldenetz, Henry and Corbin Samuels, Marley Mae and James Dollar. Ann loved family, music, books, birds and animals, especially lost or abandoned cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, turtles and a desert tortoise. Even two stray horses found their way to her back door. Many wonderful loving memories will remain with all of us of our beloved mom. The family would like to express our deep appreciation to the staff of The Gardens of Scottsdale and the nurses from Hospice of the Valley for the loving care Ann received. Friends may call from 8:30 – 9:30 AM for a viewing at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix before Mass, which will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 12, 2016 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemeter
