Evelyn Mary Gomez

passed away suddenly on December 28, 2010 at the age of 62. She was born and raised in Phoenix and loved living in Arizona all her life. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hortencia Garcia and is survived by her husband of 38 years Gilbert and son David Matthew, brother Larry Garcia and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Evelyn worked as a Library Clerk for the Phoenix Public Library and the Tempe Public Library for many years and besides reading, she enjoyed listening to music and dancing.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M., on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 A.M., on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 2121 S. Rural Rd., Tempe, AZ., followed by interment at St. Francis Cemetery.

Evelyn will be greatly missed and was loved by her family and friends. Her strength, her honesty and her love will always be with us.
