Emeterio Gonzales

Emeterio (Teyo) Gonzales, 86, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2018, in Phoenix, AZ. Emeterio was born in Phoenix, AZ on February 8, 1932. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lucy Gonzales, two children Josie (Brock) Brunkhorst, Emmett (Lisa) Gonzales, six grandchildren Billie, Kennedy, Brock, Britton, Rebekah and Aiden. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, John, Louie, George, Barbara, Agnes, Cecilia, Lydia, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Juan and Carmen Gonzales and siblings Manuel, Paul, Ruth, and Erlinda.

A Rosary will be at 9:00 A.M. with Funeral Mass at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 1st, at Saint Mary’s Basilica, 231 North 3rd Street, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley – Ryan House, 110 W Merrell St, Phoenix, AZ 85013.

Teyo was a generous, amiable, and thoughtful spirit who loved a good laugh. Throughout his life he traveled, enjoyed taking his kids and grandkids camping/fishing, and created exquisite art. His beautifully-detailed wood carvings were loved by all. He loved to watch sports, indulge his sweet tooth, and take care of the ones he loved. His sense of humor and stories will be missed by all.
