Petro “Peter” Hambas

, 2014, Petro “Peter” Hambas, age 76, passed away with honor and dignity surrounded by his loved ones and is now within the loving embrace of the Lord Jesus Christ.  He will be remembered with fond admiration as a loving gentle soul who was ever faithful to the Lord, Family and Friends.  Peter placed high importance on personal relationships, believing love is the greatest gift we can give one another.  He will be especially remembered for his smile, wit, charm and impeccable fashion sense.  Peter believed life is a celebration and laughter the best medicine.  He was quick to smile and thoroughly enjoyed making people laugh.  Peter is survived by his siblings Elizabeth Anderson, Demetrios Hambas and Koula Ratliff.  He was also Uncle and Great Uncle to many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Anastasia and Gregory, as well as his brothers-in-law, Lee Anderson, Sr. and Ronnie “Joe” Ratliff.  It is without a doubt they will welcome him home into the graces of God with love and opened arms.  Visitation will be Friday, August 22, 2014 from 6-8pm with Trisagion at 7pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 23, at 10am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1973 E. Maryland Avenue.  Interment will follow at Phoenix Memorial Cemetery.
