Passed away at age 91 on February 22, 2015 in Scottsdale, Arizona with family at her side. She was born in New York City on March 28, 1923 and lived in Kings Park, L.I. with her husband Jim and three children prior to moving to Sun City West in 1995. Eileen and Jim shared the same birthday, a year apart, and were married for 65 years prior to his passing on February 22, 2013. She is survived by three children, Stephen Hanrahan (Lynne), Denise Ciafone, James Hanrahan (Maria), 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Eileen attended Cathedral High School and Hunter College and was a retired science and math teacher but her talents were endless. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Catholic Daughters of America. She will be remembered for so many things that made her a special person. Her smile, the genuine warmth and kindness she shared with everyone she met and the tremendous pride she had for her family and her Irish heritage. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Kings Park, New York at a later date.
