James Francis Hanrahan formerly of Kings Park, New York passed away peacefully at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona on February 22, 2013 at the age of 90. He was born in New York City on March 28, 1922 to John and Ellen (Griffin) Hanrahan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Eileen O’Reilly Hanrahan, children Stephen (Lynne) Hanrahan, Denise Hanrahan Ciafone and James (Maria) Hanrahan, sister Helen Kelly, nephew J. Scott Kelly, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Jim graduated from Fordham Prep in 1939 and Fordham University in 1943. He served in the Army in Europe during WWII. He worked for CalTex, Suffolk County Department of Labor and retired from the U.S. Department of Labor in 1987. He was a member of the American Legion Post 944 and the Knights of Columbus. “Pops”, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Main Street, Kings Park, N.Y at 10;30 AM on Friday, March 22, 2013. Interment to follow at the Long Island National Cemetery- Pinelawn in Farmingdale, New York.
