It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Jana Hayden, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, and friend. Jana passed away on Good Friday, April 7, 2023, at the age of 46, as a result of a tragic car accident that also claimed the life of her youngest daughter, Joy Anna.
Jana was born on November 11, 1976, in Scottsdale, Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University with two degrees in Business and Economics–a testament to her hardworking and ambitious nature. In middle school and high school, Jana was an accomplished gymnast and enjoyed playing the flute.
Jana was a full-time, caring mother to her five children: Alexa Hayden-Michaels, Ethan, Ryan, Grace, and Joy Anna Diaz. She was a faithful wife to her husband, Domingo (Chino) Diaz, and they loved one another deeply. Jana never forgot her family and always made sure to remember special holidays and birthdays.
Jana had a heart for the hurting and was always eager to lend a helping hand. She loved children and animals. Her friendly nature meant that she rarely met a stranger. Jana loved making deep connections with others. She was known for her infectious laughter. Jana had a heart for giving and was always looking for ways to serve others. She had a deep passion for learning and investigating everything, and her research skills were second to none. She was also a shrewd negotiator.
She loved playing games, and her competitive spirit meant that she was always up for a challenge. She relished vacationing with her family in Coronado, CA, and Flagstaff, AZ, and was always planning something fun for the family to enjoy.
Jana’s love for Jesus was evident in everything she did, and she regularly attended Christ Church Lutheran. Her family cherishes the assurance that she is healed and whole and with her Savior today!
Jana leaves behind a loving family who grieves her deeply, including her husband Domingo, her children Alexa, Ethan, Ryan, Grace, and Joy Anna (deceased) her parents James Boyd and Lori Hayden Boyd, her brother Brian Hayden and James Boyd II (deceased), her sisters Ashley Boyd and Rebecca Boyd Westfall (Parker), her grandparents Earl (deceased) and Jacqueline Edgley, and her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jana’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held on April 30, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Christ Church Lutheran, 3901 E Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ, with the funeral service following at 3:00 pm. Jana will be laid to rest at Paradise Memorial Gardens on May 1, 2023, at 10:00 am. May her soul rest in peace, and may her family find comfort in the memories they created with her and the knowledge they will see her again in Heaven.
