Hector Erin Abundio Ramirez

Hector Erin Abundio Ramirez Reyes, born June 11, 1941 in Salama, Baja Verapaz, Guatemala Central America passed away on June 25, 2024 in Phoenix, Arizona.  Hector was the third child of eight siblings of Juan and Zoila Rosa de Ramirez. His brother and sisters are Estelita (Mario), Marta Rosa, Maria Antonieta, Floridalma (Ernesto), Maria Teresa, Gloria (Leonel) and Juan Francisco (Irma); children are Juan Luis, Floridalma, Marta Rosa, Hayra and Erin (Maria Elena). 

He grew up on the family's farm, as a little child he learned how to take care of the farm with horses and cattle. Hector enjoyed being a cowboy together with his father and cousins and his grandfather, Don Prospero Ramirez.

As an adult, he started a new dimension of his life as a truck driver that opened his path of travel to include his trips to new and different places in Central America.  He was always companied by his guitar, he played and enjoyed singing along, especially romantic songs. One of his hobbies was football (soccer), he was always ready to watch the international and national competitions, he didn't miss a championship game and he knew who all the best players were.  Hector liked Barcelona's team and enjoyed team USA too.  

Around the year 1989, he came to the US, and started working in a nursery plant learning the care of plants. After years of doing this type of work he decided to start his own business in lawn and landscape maintenance. He made friends with people in the industry and his clients always let him know his work was appreciated.

A visitation will held on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road in Phoenix. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 13th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Avenue in Phoenix. Burial to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
