“Betty” Beatriz Acker Hernandez

”Betty” Beatriz Acker Hernandez, 80, was called by our Lord Jesus Christ on January 28, 2016 in Phoenix, AZ. She was born June 27, 1935 in Mesa, AZ. She was preceded by her parents Ernest Acker and Theadora Othon (step father Manuel Olmos) and siblings Ernest, Frank, Hermina, Rosie, Ruby and son Daniel Hernandez. She is survived by her husband of 61 years of marriage, Joe (Chepi) Hernandez, sons Theodore (Inga), Joe, David (Elizabeth), Michael and daughter Beatrice, embraced Rudy Romo, 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Betty married the love of her life, Joe in 1954 and together had six beautiful children. Betty’s love for children led her to work as an Instructional Assistant for the Murphy School District during the nineteen seventies. Our mother had so many wonderful friends and neighbors whom she loved more than anything to socialize with. She loved and treasured being a wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother cherishing all of us to the very end of her time on Earth. We will truly miss her dearly. Visitation will take place from 5:00 – 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 4, 2016 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 320 N. 20

Drive, Phoenix. Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM, Friday, February 5, 2016 at St. Matthew Catholic Church.   Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home.
