Ann L. Herzer, 88, born April 29, 1934 in Marion, KY, passed away February 28, 2023 in Scottsdale, AZ.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Donald G. Herzer, parents Chester and Reba Walker, three brothers, Jimmy, Harvey, and Preacher, and three sisters, Betty, Fran, and Sue.
Ann is survived by her son, John Herzer (Rebecca) and their children, Rayne Pierce (Mitch) and Anna Luck, daughter, Joy Smith (Tommy) and their children Chelsea Fredrickson (Rick) and Melissa Smith, and great-grandchildren Makayla and Cade.
Ann moved to Scottsdale in the summer of 1962 with her husband and two children. After the children were grown she enrolled at MCC and ASU and earned a BA and Master’s Degree in Education. She retired from the Madison School District after many years as an educator.
After she and Don retired they spent their summers in Kentucky at their cabin by Kentucky Lake and their winters at their home in Scottsdale.
Ann was involved with the DAR, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Arizona Republican Party, the Kentucky Colonels, and the Little Red School House in Scottsdale.
Graveside service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. where she will be laid to rest with her husband Don.
