, 2016. Mary was born August 5, 1935 in Wolfe City, Texas. Mary moved to Phoenix in 1964 and lived with her husband of 47 years John (Jack) Hook and their 7 children. She was a homemaker and active member of her church. Mary and Jack had a passion for travel and had seen much of the world; in later years they loved to road trip to see her beloved cousins in Texas.  Mary’s was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family in Phoenix as well as their cabin in Heber, Arizona. Mary loved the Lord and took every opportunity to spread the love and message of Jesus Christ. Her travels are complete and she rests in the arms of God. She is preceded in death by her parents Wendell and Verbie Lee Hire. She is survived by her husband Jack and their 7 children, Meleah Young, Lynn Itule (Willie), Michael Hook (Sue), Brad Mercer, Jacque Welch (Todd), David Hook (Jennifer), and Valerie Higgins. Mary also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service and reception will be held at Christ Church Lutheran 3901 E Indian School Road Sunday June 5
