Margaret leaves behind her five children: Audrey Williamson, Neal (Carole Ann) Hooks, Laura (Dennis) Graviss, Russ (Erin) Hooks and Mary (Buster) Locke, six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by husband Howard, her father Francis Fitzsenry and mother Margaret (Rust) Fitzsenry, siblings Mary Jane, Joeseph, Rita, Alice and Francis.

Margaret was born on November 3, 1932 and was raised in Breda, IA. She remembered those years with great fondness for she loved the time growing and playing with her family. Eventually, her family moved to Des Moines and she attended St. Joseph Academy graduating on June 19, 1951. While in high school she met Howard and the two fell in love. They married on June 30, 1951. There they raised their first child Audrey. In 1960 the small family moved to Phoenix, AZ.

In Phoenix, Margaret work for a short time at Motorola because she soon had three children under three to care for. She loved being busy with her family from sporting event, music lessons, wood-working, boy and girl scouts.

When the children were young, she made most of their cloths becoming a wonderful and skilled seamstress. She soon began making recital gowns, prom dresses, bride-maid dresses and beaded wedding dresses. She even beaded the bride’s shoes. She also enjoyed making quilts, knitting and crocheted blankets, sweaters, scarfs and hats.

A lifelong catholic, she was a professed member of the Lay Dominicans at Most Holy Catholic Church. After moving to her new home, she began looking for a new church family closer to her and she found St. Joan of Arc. There she learned about St. Damien and his service to those suffering from leprosy. Moved by the stories of his life she began St Damien’s Helpers. This group of dedicated ladies began meeting weekly to making bandages for individuals suffering from leprosy. Over time they saw the need to make hats, scarfs and mittens for children, blankets and hats for babies and preemies.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a deeply spiritual woman, a dedicated mother and friend who knew no stranger and was always ready to lend a hand.
