James Arthur "Artie" Eaves, JD, born on June 25, 1973, in Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on March 21, 2025, in his hometown. He was a beloved figure in both his personal and professional spheres, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, excellence, and compassion.

Artie’s journey began in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he graduated from Catholic High School for Boys in 1991. He furthered his education at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, obtaining a B.A. in History and Literature in 1996, and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. His passion for law led him to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, William H. Bowen School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 1999. His time in law school showcased his exceptional talent, as he was named Best Oral Advocate in the Benjamin J. Altheimer Annual Moot Court Competition and elected President of the Student Bar Association. Artie’s dedication to his community shone brightly when he received the Theresa Hoover Volunteer Service Award for transforming seized drug houses into homes for families in need.

After beginning his career as Deputy County Attorney in Maricopa County and later serving as a prosecutor for three years, Artie joined Sanders + Parks P.C. in 2003. Over his distinguished career spanning over two decades, he became a senior owner and director at the firm, specializing in defending healthcare providers in complex medical malpractice cases. He earned accolades such as the Award of Excellence and was recognized for his outstanding contributions to public safety by the Chief of Police of Phoenix.

Beyond his remarkable professional achievements, Artie was cherished for his profound impact as a mentor and friend. He was known for his unwavering support and wise counsel, providing guidance to colleagues and friends alike. His laughter and wit brought joy to all who knew him, creating an enduring legacy grounded in kindness and generosity.

Artie found happiness in embracing the great outdoors and was a passionate bibliophile, writer, and artist. He loved music and singing, often sharing these passions with family and friends. His faith played an important role in his life as a member of Scottsdale Bible Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved parents, Clark and Anita Eaves, his devoted spouse of 28 years, Emily Clarise Eaves (Ragland), and their three children, Lauren, Ellie, and Colton. His indomitable spirit and compassionate heart will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.

A Funeral Service to honor Artie will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Scottsdale Bible Church, located at 7601 E. Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ, 85260, with a luncheon to immediately follow at the church. Artie was an ardent supporter of Gigi’s Cottage and held this non-profit organization and its mission very close to his heart.

Artie Eaves leaves behind a legacy defined not only by his professional successes but also by the love he shared with family and friends. He will be remembered fondly as a brilliant legal mind, a generous soul, and an unwavering supporter of those in need.
