Janet Jones Casper, a beacon of strength and love, passed away peacefully at home on July 11th, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, resilience and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
A cherished wife, mother of three daughters and grandmother to four beloved grandchildren, Janet’s influence on those around her was immeasurable. Her kindness and vibrant spirit were a source of inspiration to many, and she faced life’s challenges with unwavering courage and determination. Despite her health struggles, Janet never complained, always meeting each day with a smile. Her unshakable optimism and generosity of spirit made her a cherished presence in the lives of all who had the privilege to know her.
Born in Lisbon, Ohio on October 30, 1941, Janet attended Ohio State University where she pursued nursing and met the love of her life, Peter. Their 61-year marriage was a testament to their deep bond, and together they built a wonderful life in Paradise Valley, Arizona, raising their three daughters, Laurie, Kathleen and Lisa. Janet had a deep passion for horses and built a small business raising and breeding Peruvian Pasos. She also enjoyed traveling to destinations near and far with family and friends though her heart was happiest at home or at the family cabin in Mormon Lake, Arizona.
Janet was a proud member of the PEO sisterhood, a dedicated volunteer at the Paradise Valley United Methodist Church, and an active participant in The Mountain View Desert Roses Ladies Club. Despite her own physical challenges, she found joy in helping others, and her efforts inspired all who knew her.
Though her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, Janet’s memory will continue to inspire strength, hope and love. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all she knew. Her bright blue eyes and beautiful smile will not be forgotten.
Janet is survived by her husband, Peter, her daughters, Laurie Winters (Robert), Kathleen Casper (Jeff), and Lisa Murphy (Michael Jr.), her grandchildren, Benjamin Winters, Michael Murphy III, Natalie Winters and Jack Murphy, her siblings Lesley Weber (Paul) and Craig Jones (Stephanie) and her nieces and nephews. Janet is preceded in death by her parents, John and Louise Jones, father and mother-in-law, Peter and Helen Casper and brother and sister-in-law, Ellis and Mary Ann Hawkins.
