With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeffery Earl Rons, who left us peacefully yet unexpectedly on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the age of 62.
Jeff was born on October 10, 1962, in Phoenix, Arizona, to his loving parents, Harriette and Francis Rons. Jeffery had three brothers—his younger twin brothers, Rick and Bob, whom he loved coaching and spending time with, and their brother, Michael, who was welcomed into God’s loving hands in 2017. The Rons boys found no greater joy than making each other laugh, a bond that now continues beyond this life.
Jeff attended Supai Grade School and later Coronado High School, where he made lifelong friendships and met the love of his life, Beth Misfeldt. The two met when they were just 16 years old, and after years of dating, were finally married on Jeff’s birthday, October 10, 1987. Two years later, they welcomed their greatest joy, their daughter, Hailey Elizabeth.
Jeff was a devoted husband and father who found pure happiness in spending time with his girls. He had a special gift for making them laugh, always ready with his quick wit and humor. You never knew what he was going to say or do, but one thing was certain—whatever it was, it would have everyone giggling.
From an early age, Jeff was inspired most by his grandparents. He especially admired his grandfather Pete and spent countless hours in his workshop, learning the art of woodworking. This passion sparked the creation of Hokey Pete Creations, a collection of handcrafted birdhouses and outdoor pieces that he proudly displayed at artisan fairs throughout Arizona.
His grandmother, Esther McGloughlon (Grandma "Mac"), nurtured Jeff’s love for cooking, gardening, and the great outdoors during their time together on her farm in Orange City, Iowa. He was raised with a deep appreciation for his Dutch heritage, a love he proudly passed down to his daughter.
Jeff had a creative soul and a keen eye for design. He studied architecture at Arizona State University, where his passion for design and creativity flourished. His deep love for the desert and the outdoors shaped both his career and his lifestyle. Whether he was designing landscapes, running jeep tours, hiking, hunting, fishing, or golfing, Jeff found inspiration in the natural beauty around him.
Blending his love for golf with his expertise in architecture and landscape design, Jeff played a key role in shaping stunning golf courses and communities across Arizona. Most recently, he served as the landscape manager at DC Ranch in Scottsdale, where his work left a lasting impact. His dedication to his craft extended beyond his own projects—he began teaching courses at the Arizona Landscape Contractor’s Association, mentoring the next generation of landscape professionals.
Jeff had a deep love for animals and was always surrounded by their companionship. His loyal cat, Max, was his constant sidekick, while his grand-dogs, Ruger and Donnie, filled his days with joy. He cherished lazy afternoons relaxing in his yard, tossing a tennis ball, and enjoying the simple pleasures of their company.
Music was woven into the fabric of Jeff’s life. With an incredible singing voice, he found great joy in singing with his church choir. He loved challenging everyone’s music knowledge with impromptu rounds of “Name That Band” and never shied away from an open mic. His enthusiasm for music was contagious, leaving a song in the hearts of those around him.
Jeff truly cherished the company of his many friends—his cigar shop buddies, hunting trip friends, golf companions, and colleagues. No matter where he was, he had a way of bringing people together, making them laugh, and always embracing life with his signature phrase: "Every day's a holiday with me!"
Jeff leaves a void in our gatherings, a presence that can never be replaced. His pranks, jokes, stories, and laughter filled every room, bringing people together with his unmistakable energy. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
Jeff was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Rons; his grandmother, Esther McGloghlon; his grandparents, Peter W. and Johana Rons; his uncle and aunt, Dennis and Marlene Rons; and his Mother and Father-in-law Charles and Janice Misfeldt.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Beth, and their daughter, Hailey, as well as his devoted parents, Francis and Harriette. He is survived by his brothers and their families, Rick and Natalie Rons, and Bob and Kathleen Rons, along with their children, Peter, Taylor, Luke, Kendall, and Cassidy Rons. He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Brian and Renee Misfeldt, and Jennifer and Darren Mills, along with their children, Jake and Brogan Mills.
Jeff’s warmth, humor, and larger-than-life spirit touched not only his family but also his many friends and their children, who will always remember him as their fun and unforgettable "Uncle Jeff.”
