Jerry Austin Barrett

Passed away on March 26th in Payson Arizona at the age of 85. He was born in McNary AZ and his family soon moved to Phoenix. Raised at 35th ave. and McDowell Rd, Jerry graduated High School from Phoenix Tech where he learned Sheetmetal to later become a Sheetmetal Union Journeyman. In all his giftings he helped to build 13 Christian churches, 3 residences for his family and Colene’s parents. Two of these projects he and Colene traveled to Beclean, Romania where they spent months building and serving to build Christian Radio. Later they would build a brand-new building in Pasqueda, Mexico. Deeply committed to Christ, he leaves a family who loved him dearly and will miss him everyday.

He and Colene have 3 children Bryan (Julie), Shari(Sherman) Brownlee and Darren(Amy). 2 Grandkids Matthew and Krista. His only sibling Jodene (Melvin) Churchill, resides in Phoenix.

Services to be held next week  Thursday, April 10th at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ 11:00 viewing, 12:00 Funeral Service with a Motorcade to the Veterans National Cemetery 2:00 p.m. 

Honors and Flag Ceremony and burial on Saturday, April 12th at Blue Ridge Community of Happy Jack, AZ Memorial Service 11:00 am. Off of Hwy. 87 just past the 304 Mile Marker up on the Mogollon Rim. Turn right on Enchanted Lane, then on the left, just drive in behind the Blue Ridge fire station to the church. 2.5 hour drive from the Valley.
