Joanne Murphy, 69, passed away in her home, surrounded by family, on October 5, 2024, after a battle with metastatic breast cancer. Cherished wife of Kevin Murphy for over 40 years and beloved mother to Sean, Trinity, and Trinity’s mother, Lauren Long. Full of love and resilience, Joanne’s life was marked by laughter and devotion to her family.
Daughter of Josephine and James Malcolm, Joanne was born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey. Full of loyalty and integrity, Joanne dedicated over 32 years of her professional career to Mike Geddes & Co.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Dorothy Malcolm. Loved and missed by her older brother Jim Malcolm and his family -– sister-in-law Glennis, niece Roxanne and her daughter Sage, nephews Alec and Spencer; by her niece Jessica Vassallo and her son Nico; by her sister-cousin Kathy and cousins Bill, Nancy and Mary Lee. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Mary, father-in-law, Edward, and brother-in-law, Dennis. Survived by her brother-in-law, Edward, with his wife, Eileen, and their children Michael, Nick, and Katie and her son, Max; by her sister-in-law, Susan with her husband Joe, and their daughter, Nora; by her sisters-in-law, Maribeth and Margarita.
Treasured and remembered by co-workers and lifelong friends who felt her warmth & generosity.

A visitation will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85018 on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 5pm – 8pm. A Mass in her honor will be held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church,11001 N. 40th St., Phoenix, AZ 85028on Saturday November 2, 2024, from 11am-12pm.
