In Loving Memory of Kim Steinmetz – A Brilliant Mind and Eternal Rebel with an Unmatched Spirit

Kim, beloved mother, cherished GiGi, and beacon of knowledge and joy, broke on through to the other side on the 14th of August 2024, at the age of 67. We find comfort knowing that she was reunited with her daughter McKenzie Mica and her granddaughter Kennedy McKenzie who proceeded her in death.

Her remarkable intellect, evident in her achievement of a jurisdiction doctorate, was matched only by her vibrant personality and unwavering dedication to her family. She was exceptionally proud of her daughters, Taylor Corinn and Riley Olivia. She beamed when given the opportunity to boast about Riley’s achievements becoming a doctor, and her dedication to caring for patients. Kim’s pride extended to Taylor, her husband Major Kevin Roose, USAF, and their two living children, Logan Grace and Declan Keyne. She never missed a moment to shower her daughters and grandchildren with all the love she had, and the occasional odd gift she picked up at a local thrift store. She greatly admired and respected her ex-husband, Don and his wife, Anne, as well as their two sons, Grant Tyler and Grayson Wright. Kim was forever grateful for their patience, love and dedication to their children.

A true aficionado of music, Kim lived for the electrifying energy of live music. Her heart beat to the rhythms of her favorite artists. Her eclectic style and unmistakable fashion sense were as lively as the playlists she curated.

Her sense of humor was nothing short of legendary. Kim had a unique gift for transforming everyday moments into extraordinary memories with her wit and charm and wildly funny stories. Whether through a clever quip or an entertaining anecdote, she could light up a room and bring laughter to those around her.

Beyond her intellectual achievements and musical passions, Kim was a fierce advocate for justice and human rights. Her compassion drove her to advocate for those in need. Evident in every action and cause she championed, demonstrating her commitment to making the world a fairer place.

Kim, a masterful chef who continued to prepare enough food to feed a small village, even after her children moved out, would share her culinary talents and passion for helping and uplifting others, driving around with individually packaged meals for those in need.

Kim’s legacy is a testament to her brilliance, her boundless spirit, and her profound impact on those who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a world richer in knowledge, joy, and love. Her spirit, marked by her unique style and passionate heart, will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her.

Kim's daughters are planning to hold a memorial service in the near future for their mom. They will update with details and information when available. To be notified, please state in the below Guestbook. Thank you.
