(Sarah) Melba Kramer went to be with God on Saturday, December 15, 2012, after courageously fighting cancer for a second time. She was surrounded by her loving family as she began her journey to heaven. Melba was born in Dalhart, Texas on November 5, 1948, to Jack and Wilma Campbell. She touched the lives of countless children through her work in pre-schools, sometimes taking care of multiple generations of families. Shopping with her was an adventure. Often she would run into families that were no longer at her daycare and they would update her on their lives today. They would end the conversation by telling her “Thank you, you were great to us.” Melba was wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. Even during her final days, she had the ability to make everyone laugh. Melba is survived by her husband Mitch; daughters, Lindsey and Elizabeth (Dan); grandchildren, Hannah Bea and Garrison; her three “favorite” brothers, Marshall (Sandy), Jim, and Rusty (Peggy); and numerous nieces and nephews. Her loving, generous and kind spirit will be missed each and every day. A Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix on Tuesday, December, 18, 2012. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 7655 E. Main St., Scottsdale, where she was a parishioner for over 35 years. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to: American Cancer Society, 4550 E. Bell Rd. Phoenix, Arizona 85032 or Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona, 1010 E. McDowell Road, Suite 400 Phoenix, Arizona 85006
