Carol Ann Lange, Nee Strub, born on January 11, 1923, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Florence and Joseph Strub.
She was married to James Martin Lange, in LaGrange, IL for 50 years. Carol was born to eternal life on December 28, 2018.
She is survived by daughter Joan (Thomas) Mahn, Karen Lange, James F Lange, Grandchildren Catherine (Ryan) Boon, Rebecca (Tyler) Mahn Hawks, Andrew Mahn, Carolyn Mahn, Melinda (Evan) Feller, Kristen (Zachary) Rhodes, Kelly Lange, and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister Joan Strub, husband Jim, and grandson Michael Leung.
Carol received her education at the University of Illinois Champagne Urbana with a degree in education. She taught in Chicago for 6 years before moving to Milwaukee, WI, raising her family there for over 20 years. Then retired to Phoenix, AZ in 1974 where she lived to the end of her life. She worked for the Health Department of the State of Arizona.
She was active in her parishes of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and Corpus Christi where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Sodality member. She was a compassionate volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul. Her life was characterized by a devout Catholic faith.
She was an avid reader and active in the League of Women Voters and enjoyed world travel. She was a valued mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and neighbor. She will be greatly missed.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. with Funeral Service at 10:00 A.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix.
