Yakazbaa Jane Lewis

Jane Yikazbaa Lewis, 94, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021, in Phoenix, AZ. She was born December 15, 1926 in Hogback to Edith Lapahie and H. B. Lewis.

Jane lived in Arizona since the late 1950’s and is best known as a Dine’ silversmith and CEO of Navajo Silvercraft based in Phoenix. She participated in numerous arts and craft shows across the country and around the world. Her jewelry was purchased and collected from Indian Market in Santa Fe, NM, to shops in Scottsdale, AZ. Jane also enjoyed being with her children and grand-children and going to church whenever possible.  She always enjoyed visiting friends and family near Shiprock, NM.

Jane was preceded in death by husbands Tom Jackson, Aaron Clah, and John Popovich, her sister Virginia Devore, brother Alex Lewis, and her sons Dave Jackson and Leroy Jackson. She is survived by her sister, Ruby McKinley, and son, Ron Frank.  Grandchildren: Donald Jackson, Darryl Jackson, Joseph Jackson, Tracy Jackson, Heather L. Jackson, Robyn Jackson, Mischelly Jackson, and Eli Jackson and Great-grandchildren Rianna C. Jackson, Melina Jackson, Sierra Jackson, Freddy Jimenez, Raymond Jimenez, Heather Jimenez, Siemone Draper, Zoey Draper, Bedzealy Draper, Flint Draper, and Mia Draper; Niece Deverna Abeita and Nephews Dave Devore, Jonathan Devore, Keevin Lewis and Dan Lewis.

A private viewing in Phoenix will be held on Monday, April 26, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home. A public graveside service will be held Friday, April 30, at 2:00 pm, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 E. Main Street, Farmington, NM 87402. Jane’s care is entrusted to the Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ  85018, 602-840-5600.
