Lizzetta Araujo Alvarez

December 26, 1953 — October 15, 2021

Phoenix

Lizzeta Araujo Alvarez, at the early age of 67, sadly passed away on October 15, 2021 from an awful and unforgiving disease.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Lizzeta was born on December 26, 1953 in Sonora, Mexico, but was raised in the small town of Douglas, AZ. Later in life, she moved to Phoenix, AZ and remained a resident until her passing. She went on to attend Maricopa Skill Center for Certified Nursing Assistant and became that and a Secretary at Maricopa Integrated Health System where she retired after more than 30 years of service. Throughout her career, she was known for her hard work, dedication, friendliness, passion for helping others, and her favorite perfume, Tabu.

But more than anything, Lizzeta was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and Catholic who’s only fault in life was loving too much.  Her children, grandchildren, and sisters were her world and she was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.  Her faith in God was everlasting believing our time on Earth will end when he is ready for us.

In her free time, Lizzeta loved the holidays, drinking coffee, watching her favorite television shows such as telenovelas, Mexican soap operas, and yard sales and discount stores, always eager to share her discoveries and enthusiasm with others.

Lizzeta is survived by her loving children, Blanca, Michael, and Julio, and her grandchildren, Andrew, Isabella, and Matthew.  Her memory will be cherished forever by all who knew her.  She will be held in their hearts until they can hold her in Heaven.

A visitation will be held for family and close friends at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85018, on Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm with a Rosary at 1:00 pm and Funeral Service at 1:15 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you bring lots of love and cherished memories.
