Dr. Maura Hi’Ilani Lynch

Dr. Maura Hi’ilani Lynch, 51, of Scottsdale, Arizona formerly of Kailua, Hawaii was taken from us while she was on her morning run. Maura died on June 12, 2015.

She lived a gracious life as a healer, a writer, a mentor, a spiritual guide and a caregiver; she lived in truth, beauty and love practicing her belief that all people are worthy of love. She enjoyed traveling and new experiences.

No one was a stranger to her as she touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness, compassion, humor and understanding; bringing strangers into her heart, comforting those in need and challenging all those close to her to live authentically.

Maura Hi’ilani grew up on Kailua Bay on the island of Oahu. She graduated Punahou in 1982 having been a member of the swim team, wrote the senior class song, “Time To Be Me” and was elected class secretary with the slogan, “Don’t be out to lunch, vote for Lynch”. Her education continued at Hawaii Loa College and Life Chiropractic College West in California. She published her book of poems, titled Simple Beautiful.

Maura Hi’ilani is survived by her mother and step-father Judy and Don Moody; her life partner, Melanie Burns of Scottsdale, Arizona; brother Brian Lynch and wife Ronda; brother Paul Tige Lynch; her father Paul A. Lynch preceded her in death. She was aunt to 3 nieces, Verna Marie Kuulei, Riley Piilani, and Tyli and 2 nephews, Nicholas and Justin along with extended family, Elaine, Scott and Chris Moody and their children and grandchildren.

A celebration of Maura’s life will take place on September 19, 2015 at 7:30 a.m. family and friends will spread her ashes at Kailua Bay, then gather at 126 Kailuana Loop, Kailua from 10-2pm.

Maura Hi’ilani, you shall be missed, our lives are forever filled with your spirit and grace. Aloha
