Maclovia G. Amavisca

Maclovia G Amavisca passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family at the of age 83 years. Born August 1, a true native of Arizona she was fortunate to attend Monroe Elementary, and Phoenix Union High School. She received her AA from Phoenix College and continued her education at Arizona State University. She was blessed being able to teach bilingual education for her entire career at Herrera Elementary in Phoenix Elementary School District #1 where she touched the lives of many who crossed her path. 

The story goes that she and Jose were both baptized at Immaculate Heart Church on the same day and time. He saw her ankle and that was it for him. They met the first day of high school and have been together ever since. She and Jose have been married over 67 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents Margarita, Jose, and Amby; her siblings David, Daniel, Francis, Joe, and Hortensia and by her son Jose Angel II.

She is survived by her husband Jose; her step brother Tony, her sisters Rosella and Marian; her children Veronica, Katrina, and Adam Lenord; her grandchildren Ariana, Adam M, Dannette, Dannielle, Jose IV, Jayce, Jessica, Bernadette, Michelle, and Malanie; her great grandchildren Sariah, Serena, Martin, Jalisa, Mya, Jianna, Christan, Ali, Maddie, Cannon, Malaya, Ian Steven, Malania, David, Caleb, Ethan, Emma, Abram, Robert “Lito”, and Giana Maclovia, 

Momma/Nana, we love you and know that your are always watching over us.

Funeral arrangements are set on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 5 pm to 8 pm Viewing and Rosary at 7 pm Rosary at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E Indian School Road Phoenix AZ 85018. Thursday August 1, 2024 at 10 am Memorial Service at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home at 4800 E Indian School Road Phoenix AZ 85018. Burial Service following Memorial Service at St Francis Cemetery at 2033 N48th Street Phoenix, AZ 85008. Reception TBA
