Tiffany Ann Makaus, age 46, passed away at 1: 45 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015 in her hometown of Phoenix, Arizona. Tiffany was born in Phoenix on February 25, 1969 to Suzan Spearin Makaus and Peter Robert Makaus. Tiffany’s early education included attending All Saints’ Episcopal Day School and Xavier College Preparatory High School. College years brought her to DePauw University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Her graduate education was at Thunderbird School of Global Management, where she earned a Master of International Management. After graduate school, Tiffany began her career in corporate finance and international business working for Circle K, The Bank of Guatemala, Zenith, Havi Group, and KPMG. Prior to her passing, she served as a Vice President for JPMorgan Chase in Chicago, Illinois; Los Angeles, California; and Denver, Colorado. Tiffany was also involved with numerous charities, among them, the Auxiliary Board of the Lincoln Park Zoo, the Junior League of Chicago, and the Field Museum of Chicago.
Tiffany was an intelligent, compassionate and energetic young woman who fiercely loved her friends, family and, of course, her faithful dog Murray.
Tiffany loved art, music, history, and travel; and her passion for learning was infectious.
Her friends and family will always remember her as a
beautiful, intelligent woman with a keen sense of loyalty; a witty, irreverent sense of humor; and a distinguishable laugh and smile.
To all the lives she touched, Tiffany remains an exceptional example of unwavering strength and modest character in the midst of overwhelming challenges. Tiffany’s
strength, grace, kindness, and
joie de vivre
will not be forgotten.
As a loving daughter and caring sister, Tiffany is survived by her father and mother, Peter and Suzan Makaus, and her brother Brent Makaus
