Manuel A. Marquez

Leon Manuel Amador Marquez was a loving father and husband, grandfather & great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife Tomasa, his children Humberto, Maribel, Ismael, Alma and Jesus, his grandchildren Amber, Gina, Cody, and great grandson Cooper.

He was a very faithful Catholic. He drove people to mass, helped at many church events and was a member of Catholic group called Guadalupanos. He was a very hardworking man, who often worked two or three jobs or even gave plasma to support his family.

He was known for his love for horses, growing plants, and watching Western movies and TV shows. He loved listening to his favorite music, especially one of his favorite music groups Las Jilguerilla's. He was also in a band for a brief time call Los Mariano's that performed at the Riverside Park Ballroom in Phoenix, AZ. He was even an extra in a few movies, such as King of the Sun (1963).

He would never say no to his children if they needed anything and would always tell his children that they were everything to him, his treasure and greatest accomplishment. He would always tell jokes and funny sayings and would make people laugh. Manuel will be immensely greatly missed by his family, friends and so many more. 

Rest in paradise, Leon Manuel Amador Marquez, until we meet again. 

Like he use to say - “Nosotros te amamos más de lo que sabes”..."We love you more than you know!"

Visitation will be held from 6pm - 8pm with a rosary recitation at 6:30pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 26, 2024 ay 10am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 6200 S. Central Avenue in Phoenix. Burial to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N 48th Street, Phoenix.
