Edward “Ted” Adger Iii Marshall

Edward A. “Ted” Marshall III died peacefully in his home on May 10, 2015.

A second generation, native Arizonan, he was born June 30, 1954, in Phoenix where he attended Washington High School. He held a BS in Real Estate from Arizona State University, and also a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Arizona.

Ted was a skilled and passionate horticulturist, having held positions with local landscape design firms. His most recent position was Project Manager for Anderson Baron in Chandler, as well as the family business, Marshall Properties. Earlier on, his adventuresome spirit took him to destinations and jobs that ranged from the family business at Marshall Properties in Phoenix, to panning for gold in Prescott, carpentry in Idaho, and cooking and bartending in Half Moon Bay, CA.

An avid reader, Ted loved a wide variety of books, movies, and music. His biggest passion involved gardening, and this was evident year ‘round in the yard he so loved! He was also known for his irreverent sense of humor and dry wit. A man of few words, his constant companions were most often his beloved pets, Ollie and Bacchus. He loved to camp, hike and kayak. Early family camping trips to Mexico developed into a lifelong love of travel with family and friends. He spent his childhood summers with his extended family in Iron Springs, a very unique summer community outside of Prescott. As an adult, he returned and shared that magical place with the wife and daughters that he so deeply loved.

He is survived by his wife Bronwyn and her three daughters, Brenna, Bronte, and Braelyn, mother Betty Marshall, sisters Anne (Bob) and Lisa, and brother Scott (Jenny) and two nieces, Emily and Abbey, and two nephews, Ben and Jason. His father, Edward A. “Pete” Marshall Jr, is deceased.

A Memorial Service will be held at Mountain View Lutheran Church, 11002 S. 48th Street, Phoenix, 85044, on Saturday, May 16, at 1:00 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home and Post Scripts by Posey.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers you treat yourself to something special in Ted’s honor.
