Mary Colleen Lum Lung of Phoenix AZ died on October 25, 2024. She was the loving wife of Paul Lum Lung for 58 years and the mother of Michael, Christine, Kevin and Lisa, and the Nana of 10 grandchildren. She was born in Aurora, IL on October 10,1944 to James and Edna Rogan and was the sister of Collette and Patricia.
Colleen graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and later earned a Master of Science Degree in Nursing and a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner’s License from the University of Colorado. She was dedicated to treating, healing and caring for children as a pediatric nurse, a pediatric intensive care unit nurse, and then as a pulmonary nurse practitioner.
Although Colleen retired from healthcare in 2008, she continued her life of service. As a faithful Catholic and parishioner of St. Thomas More Parish in Englewood Colorado for 45 years, Colleen led different ministries and taught various topics on the faith. She graduated from the Denver Catholic Biblical School and the Denver Catechetical School. She was also a Dame in the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher.
On any given day Colleen could be found leading a rosary at Church, taking a friend to a doctor’s appointment, planning a presentation at church with Paul, playing tag with her grandchildren and calling to check in and encourage her children. She will be remembered for endless energy, her love of her family, her passion for her faith and for a laugh and a smile that would light up the room.
A Rosary is scheduled at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2312 E. Campbell Ave., Phoenix AZ 85016 at 10:30am on Friday, November 22, 2024 followed by the Funeral Mass at 11 AM.
