Margaret R. Mendivil, our loving mother, surrounded by her family entered into the hand of God on May 19, 2017 at the graceful age of 82. She was born on March 15, 1935 in Hayden Arizona to Jose Romero and Carmen Sierras Romero. She is reunited with her beloved husband Joe Mendivil and he with his “bride” of 50 years. She is preceded by her parents and her six brothers, Ramon, Felizardo, Armando, Arturo, Jose and Ignacio. She is survived by her six children, Joey, Kathy, Mark, Kevin, Keith and Brian; six grandchildren, Cortni, Marisa, Bianca, Jacob, Evelyn, Karina, three great grandchildren; Robert, Jonathon and Jadeci and her three sisters, Irene, Carol and Carmen. “Auntie Maggie” was the endearing mother of many who touched many lives. She was loved and cherished by many nieces, nephews and friends. Joe and Maggie were founding members of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Phoenix. She held several key positions as Parish Council President, Finance Director and Executive Board Member of St. Mark’s Women’s Club and a Committee Member for the Stewardship Program Catholic Diocese of Phoenix. She launched the school lunch program at St. Mark’s and was instrumental in the success of raising funds for the school and church every year at the school carnival. For 30 years she was an Inspector for the Elections Board in her precinct and remained informed with local and national issues. She was a top producer with Avon for many years, was an avid doll collector and Den Mother with the Boy Scouts of America. She was an active, independent, spirited, extraordinarily selfless, generous and lovely woman. We take great comfort that she will be with her beloved Joe and family who have gone before.
