Janet Lynn Miller passed away October 28th at the age of 59; she was surrounded by her family. Janet is survived by her mother Marita Ricks, her father Joseph Kuefner, her siblings Jill and Dan, her husband Michael Miller, and her daughters Jenny and Marie, and son-in-law Jon. Janet was born in Bergenfield, New Jersey in 1960. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 8.
Janet loved baking with her daughters and had a passion for all sweets. She loved to read, constantly striving to grow, and evolve to be the best person, wife, and mother she could be. She was open-minded, generous, and empathetic. She lived and felt things with her whole heart. Janet was a woman of strong conviction and honesty, always standing up for what she thought was right, despite any consequences. She was a devoted and loyal friend, wife and mother, always giving 100%.
Music moved Janet’s soul. She loved everything from midtown/soul to instrumental music. Her home was always filled with warmth and love, good music and great food. She loved antique shopping and jewelry of all kinds. Janet could spend hours picking out the perfect greeting card, to reflect the person she was giving it to. Her thoughts and words touched people in a profound way.
Janet loved a good bakery, Italian food and was an avid fan of Seinfeld, Blue Bloods and Curb Your Enthusiasm. She appreciated a good deli, always asked for extra napkins, could smell an onion from a mile away, was known to be a very generous tipper, and didn’t take sh*t from anybody. In 2018, Janet and her daughters traveled to New York City, fulfilling a dream of eating good foods, seeing Broadway shows and feeling the rhythm of the city.
Janet is an incredible soul who always believed in miracles. She was kind and sweet and did everything she could to help those who came into her life. Janet was the most selfless, loving, compassionate person. Wherever Janet was felt like home. Janet loved the holidays and always decorated her home in the most beautiful way. Her smile had a certain sparkle which brought joy and love to those who were fortunate enough to know her. She loved kids and embodied the word ‘Mom.’ She was the best mother, wife and was always there when her family and friends needed her and could make everything ‘okay.’ Janet will be deeply missed but not forgotten.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held immediately afterward. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Janet’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
