Grover R. Milligan, Jr. was born on August 22, 1928, in St. Johns, Arizona, where he lived until moving to Phoenix, Arizona, in 1969. Grover passed away on November 15, 2021, surrounded by his children and grandchildren at his home in Phoenix, Arizona.
Grover was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Syria Milligan; his brothers, Maximone Milligan and Bonefacio Milligan; and sisters Emma Trujillo, Mary Lucero, Neva Chavez, Margret Romero, and sister, Irene Redmond. Grover is survived by one sister, Virginia Padilla of Show Low, Arizona; and seven children: Ramona Valenzuela, Forest Grove, Oregon; George Milligan, Williams, Arizona; LouAnn Milligan, Phoenix, Arizona; Robert Milligan (Elizabeth), Phoenix, Arizona; Lilly Milligan (Rudy Garza), Phoenix, Arizona; Nancy Milligan, Laveen, Arizona; and Thelma Franzen (Bridger), Monarch, Montana. Grover leaves behind a large family legacy including 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
A viewing will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home located at 4800 East Indian School Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85018, on Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M., to include Rosary Prayers from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Mary’s Basilica, 231 N. 3rd Street in Phoenix, on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:00 A.M.
