Geneva Ann Fortner Millstone

Our Beloved Mother, Geneva Ann Fortner Millstone, has gone to Heaven. She was born to Elizabeth and Donzel Fortner in Peoria, IL on October 7, 1936 and died September 11, 2023.

She grew up in Bloomington, IL and then after her Catholic education went on to Marycrest College and then Arizona State. It is there she met and married James Millstone. They raised their daughters in Scottsdale and were founding parishioners of St. Daniel’s Catholic Church.

Geneva was a homemaker while raising her children, then took a job at Crockett Elementary as a teacher’s aide. In retirement she volunteered in the library at St. Daniels grade school until it closed. She was a devout Catholic, attending Mass daily, and served as a Eucharistic Minister for several years. She was the most thoughtful, kind, loving person, with a good Irish sense of humor!

She is survived by her three Daughters, Mary Beth Lopez (George), Katie Millstone, Colette Millstone (Tim Kelly). Also, five Grandsons Tim, Gabriel, Daniel, Alex, and Zachary,

Granddaughter Nicole, and Great Grandchildren Benjamin, and Sophia.

Visitation will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 5-7PM with a Rosary at 7PM. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Daniel the Prophet Roman Catholic Church, 1030 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, on Wednesday, October 4th at 10:30AM, with the burial immediately following at St Francis Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.whitneymurphyfuneralhome
