Elsie G. Moriarity passed away peacefully on June 29, 2014 in her Phoenix home with her husband of 63 years, Jack, by her side. Elsie was born on May 2, 1926 to Fred and Eva Gunsalus in Skaneateles, New York. She was the youngest of three sisters who all enjoyed growing up on their small family dairy farm. After high school Elsie studied to become a dental hygienist. This lead to a position working with a dentist in Rochester, New York, where she met a dental patient named John (Jack) Moriarity whom she married in 1951. She and Jack moved to Phoenix that same year and have never called any other place home. Elsie took great joy in her family and developing loving, caring relationships with older women in her neighborhood and her circle of influence. Until recent years, she could be found once a week playing golf in her women’s league. She was the lady smiling and laughing as the scores were tallied. Elsie lived life with grace, dignity, and gusto, and we will forever remember the love she gave as a daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband, Jack; sister, Dorothy Baldwin; son, Ed Moriarity and his wife, Henny; daughter, Toni Repp; grandson, Ben Moriarity and his wife, Maggie, and 2 grandsons. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., in Phoenix.
