Morison, William (Bill) passed away on June 28, 2014. He was born in Chicago to Blanche (Swanson) and Howard Morison, along with his younger sister, Jeanne. Bill served in WWII as a member of the Army Air Corps’ First Air Commando Group under Phil Cochran, which was filled with volunteer-only troops, since no weapons would be allowed. Their mission was to fly supplies out of Burma to American and British troops behind “The Hump” in India. Bill was very proud of his service and always sought ways to display this pride. He served as an Officer in the 1st Air Commandos’ Veterans Organization for many years and rarely started out the day without his flag lapel pin. Upon discharge from the service, he enrolled in Northwestern University receiving a degree in accounting. He worked as a CPA from the time he graduated until retirement. During his time at NU, he met and married Cecelia Cranny (deceased 1986). Their oldest daughter, Patti, was born in Chicago. The family moved to Arizona in January 1956, with their youngest daughter, Celeste, being born. Bill continued working in the CPA field, specializing in auditing for different companies as well as starting his own firm. He enjoyed attending and following Chicago Cubs and White Sox games, chasing fire engines, visiting Cudia City movie set and golf. He married Dorothy Bond in 1992 and moved from Scottsdale to Prescott Valley several years later. He will be remembered as family friends and clients referred to him as kind, nice and sweet. He is survived by Dorothy Morison, stepdaughter Cathy Nightingale (Dr. Dan Nightingale), stepson Tim Carroll, Celeste, Patti, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 9:00am, Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at St. Francis Cemetery at 48th St. & Oak, in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Family Care, 100 E. Sheldon St. Suite 100, Prescott, AZ 86301.
