On Friday, May 24th Patricia Kemnitz lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 68. Patty was predeceased by her parents Wallace and Elizabeth Kemnitz and her sister Geri Woodward. She is survived by her daughter Tracey (and Aden) Shaw Frost, daughter Leslie (and David) Berzins, son Christopher Allen, sister Monica Mefford, sister Joanie LaRue, brother Tom Kemnitz and grandchildren Conner Allen, Myles and Eleanor Arvieux, Elizabeth, Abigail, Sarah, Jonathan, David and Emily Berzins.
After earning her degree in early childhood education from NAU, she began working as a teacher. After a few years she switched career paths and began working in sales for Xerox. During her career in sales she worked for multiple technology companies and frequently earned President’s Club status. Patty had a love for traveling and a spontaneity that ensured she didn’t miss out on an opportunity to see the world.
Her entrepreneurial spirit and confidence was ever present which led to her owning multiple rental properties and start her own white Labrador breeding business.
Above all, Patty had a big heart. She frequently donated to charitable organizations as well as personally helping those in need. She was one of the best gift givers, not only because of her generosity, but especially because of the thoughtfulness that went into each gift.
Patty had the heart of a peacemaker and was genuinely interested in trying to make everyone around her happy.
In her later years, Patty was the best grandmother a child could hope to have because of her sincere interest in their lives and attentiveness in the conversations she had with them. She also established a personal relationship with each one of her 9 grandchildren. Patty will truly be missed, but will live on in the hearts and minds of those who had the opportunity to know her.
A celebration for the life of Patricia Kemnitz will be held on Saturday, June 15th at 1:00 PM at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home 4800 E Indian School Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85018.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, an organization Patty felt strongly about.
