Patrick John Moran

Patrick John Moran, 61, passed away peacefully December 18, 2023 at Scottsdale Osborn Hospital. He was born on May 11, 1962 in Washington DC, the son of John Peter Moran and Frances Guerra and the brother of Teresa Denevi, Matt Moran, Tim Moran, John Edward Moran, and Robert Moran.
Pat was raised in Phoenix, Arizona and attended Madison Meadows for grade school and graduated from Brophy College Preparatory, Class of 1980. He remained an active member of
the Brophy Alumni Association leading up to his passing. Following his graduation, he moved to various cities within the US including San Francisco CA, Buffalo NY, and Washington DC. Pat had a longtime career in the financial planning industry for over 30 plus years. In the mid-2000s, he also co-founded Unique Building Concepts, a tile manufacturing company. His financial career led him to working for various groups and creating lifelong friendships. He ended up successfully being self-employed and starting his own financial advising business in later years.

Pat married Kelly Renee Gout Moran on May 24, 2002. He adopted Kelly’s two sons Antonio (Lt) Moran and Simon Mitchell Moran. One year after their marriage they welcomed their daughter Kate Frances Moran and shortly after had their third son Charlie Peter Moran. Pat was a proud father and participated in all their childhoods. He was a coach for many of their baseball, softball, and recreational soccer teams growing up.

Faith remained an important factor in Pat’s life. He was a Roman Catholic and an active member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. He always leaned into God and the church throughout his lifetime. Pat faced many challenges with his health after he was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at age 17. He was a strong, fierce fighter that always had a positive outlook on situations. Pat developed many friendships in the medical world and was close to many of his doctors, nurses, and various medical staff.

Pat was a son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend to many. Some of his passions included music, cooking, travel, sporting events, and helping others.

He was preceded in death by his mother Frances Guerra, godson Patrick James Denevi, and his mother-in-law Mary Maxine Gout. Surviving in addition to his wife is his father, stepmother, siblings and their significant others, children, daughter in law Risa Rae Stuart Moran, granddaughter Andi Jean Moran, nieces, and nephews.

Pat was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 5-7pm with a rosary service at 6pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road in Phoenix.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 10 A.M. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4715 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix. All who loved Pat are welcomed to attend.
