Paul Mullins

November 7, 1950 — December 15, 2024

Phoenix

Paul Mullins passed away on Sunday, December 15 after a brief illness. Preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Mary Dixson (Mullins) and his sister Mary Jeanne Steers. He will be missed by his brothers Marshall (Diane) Mullins of Fairview, NC and Matt Mullins of Windham, OH, and sisters Rebecca Caufield of Ann Arbor, MI, and Rachel (Rick) Mathew of Citrus Springs, FL as well as many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his caregiving home providers, Tad and Ginnet Lonsako, and their sons Ephraim and Joshua Lonsako. Our family is very grateful to them for their loving presence in Paul’s life after our mother died as all of us lived so far away. We are also grateful to Jessica Johnson who provided years of invaluable assistance to our mother and to Paul. Also huge in his life were his friends at The Foundation for Seniors Day Program in Phoenix, AZ where he was active for several years.

Paul grew up in Hiram, Ohio where he attended Hiram Public Schools. In 1972 he moved to Phoenix AZ where he remained the rest of his life.

Paul had a pure tenor voice and was selected to perform with the Ohio Boys Choir in the summer of 1962. Paul blessed us all with his sweet, sunny disposition. He was quick to offer humorous quips that he enjoyed as much or more than everyone around him. When he heard a good joke his unique chuckle and shaking shoulders rivaled Santa Claus. He had a life complicated by disability, but he seldom complained. He was always willing to help, and his presence made it possible for our mother to live independently much longer than she would have without him.

Paul had a simple child-like faith in God and in the Lord Jesus Christ that he never lost. He attended Church for the Nations in Phoenix. Our hearts are comforted as we remember these things.

Donations can be made in Paul’s memory to https://www.fsl.org/ways-to-give/ at Foundation for Senior Living.
