Renate Marianne Elias

Renate Elias, 88, was born in Germany on January 6, 1937. After a long battle with dementia, she passed away peacefully on February 4th at 1:04 p.m. She is now in the hands of God and joyfully reunited with her husband George, parents, and countless other beloved family members and friends.

Known for her outgoing personality and passion for life, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She loved going out to dinner, travelling, working/playing on the computer, and trying her luck at the casino! Above all, she enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Renate is survived by her children Nancy Basila (Stephen) and Beverly Elias, her grandchildren Kristina Basila, Shelley Flecky (Andrew), Tracy O’Haver (Michael), Stevie J Basila, and her great-grandchildren Alex Flecky, Sam Flecky, Patrick O’Haver, and Kaylee O’Haver.

A Celebration of Renate’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ. Visitation will be held 9:00-10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. followed by lunch at 11:00 a.m. (all held at Whitney & Murphy). The celebration will conclude with internment at Saint Francis Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85008 at 2:00 p.m. (inside the mausoleum). In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Renate Elias.
