Reverend James Stabile was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 28, 1937 to Vincent and Marie Stabile. He passed away April 27, 2023 just shy of his 86th birthday at a nursing home in Paradise Valley, AZ.
It was his parents, Vincent and Marie Stabile, who introduced him to the world of music. However, he contributed his success to the talent God gave him along with his passion to serve and be obedient to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This is what made him an accomplished arranger, composer, conductor, trumpeter and piano soloist. He traveled throughout the United States, and internationally to 12 countries including Canada, Mexico, the Philippines, and the Caribbean sharing the gospel through musical productions and speaking arrangements. James was able to speak nine different languages affording him the privilege to share the gospel to a broad audience.
He worked with many famous personalities such as Paul Harvey, Pat Boone, Roger Williams and many more. He even wrote arrangements for Lawrence Welk, the pianist Dino Kartsonakis, and two musical recordings for Billy Graham to name a few. The Phoenix Symphony also utilized Mr. Stabiles’ musical talents along with his wife Virginia to perform in eight concerts. In addition to his musical abilities he was also a college professor, a pilot, a producer and a recipient of an Oscar award.
James was a jovial man who lived a rich life. There was never a person he met that was a stranger. Both James and Virginia welcomed anyone they met into their lives and considered them family.
James married Virginia Ten Eyck in 1957 on August 18th. They were in ministry together spreading the gospel wherever they were from speaking engagements to award winning musical productions. Their life was devoted to Christ.
James is survived by his sister Joan Lingjerde and niece Sharon Lingjerde and his loving wife Virginia Clara Stabile. Any condolences or correspondence can be mailed to Virginia Stabile c/o Rhonda Charles 2028 N. 125th Avenue – Avondale, AZ 85392
