Roberta Mae “Bobbie” Rice

Beloved wife of Robert V. Rice for 57+ years passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the age of 79 after a courageous battle against heart disease and ambioloydosis. Bobbie was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin August 4, 1937 to Carl and Ethel Strang, as the youngest of three girls, Carolyn Strang Lucas (now deceased) and Beverly Strang Smith of Phoenix, Arizona. Bobbie graduated from Amudsen High School, Chicago, Illinois as a class valedictorian and Northwestern University, School of Communications, Evanston, Illinois. She is survived by her husband, Robert, her remaining son, Steven Andrew Rice and his wife Therese Rice of Westlake Village, California, her daughter Katherine Ann Rice Meyertons and her husband Eric B. Meyertons of Johnson City, Texas and her late son, Eric “Bam Bam” Rice of Phoenix, Arizona who passed on January 6, 2016. Six grandchildren also survive her; Carl, Christa, Kendall & Kayla Meyertons of Johnson City, Texas, Travis Rice of Charleston, South Carolina and Garrett Rice of Westlake Village, California and one great grandchild Eric Daniel Meyertons of Johnson City, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85018 on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. The family suggests donations to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85014 in lieu of flowers. Rest in peace Bobbie as you will be sorely missed! You Betcha!
