Rita Elizabeth Driscoll

Rita Elizabeth Driscoll, 99, died August 11, 2024 at The Terraces in Phoenix, Az. The family would like to thank the kind nurses and staff who took such good care of her for many years.

Rita was born June 10, 1925 in Troy VT, a daughter of J.Homer and Yvonne E (Heroux) Galipeau. She graduated from Bishop De Goesbriand School of Nursing (Burlington VT) in 1946 and in 1947 married John C. Driscoll, who predeceased her in 2017. She moved with John and children to Phoenix in 1954 and was a member of St Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Rita was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by the following children: John M. Driscoll of Scottsdale, AZ, Brian Driscoll (Nancy) of Encinitas, CA, Mark Driscoll (Karen) of Norman, OK, Kathleen Lally (Michael) of Blacksburg, VA, and by 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Reynold Galipeau (Geraldine) of Pittsfield, MA.

She was predeceased by 2 children, Timothy Driscoll and Rita Marie Driscoll-Knepper, and by a daughter-in-law Cynthia Driscoll and 2 great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by 2 sisters, Evelyn Pekala and Joyce LaMothe and a brother, Robert Galipeau.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 10AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 7655 E. Main St., Scottsdale, AZ with burial immediately following at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St, Phoenix.
