Sally Ann Rea

May 26, 1942 — July 29, 2024

Scottsdale

Sally Ann (Kegaries) Rea died in the care of Dignity Health St. Joseph's Hospital on July 29, 2024. The daughter of Dr. Donald and Helen Kegaries, Sally was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, on May 26, 1942. She attended the University of Arizona, was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, graduated with a degree in Mycobacteriology and Phlebotomy, and post-college worked in medical labs for many years. In her younger years Sally was cheerleader at the Rapid City High School and the University of Arizona and active in sports. She enjoyed summers spent at a Minnesota lake cabin, quilting, and singing and traveling throughout the United States with the Scottsdale Sweet Adelines choir. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband Richard, her two sons Rusty (Annie) and Clarke (Tiffany), and five beloved grandchildren: Gretchen, Mike, Karen, Clarke, and Courtney. In her later years she survived cancer (thyroid) and many significant surgeries, yet through all she maintained a positive attitude and outlook on life. She would have been married 60 years on August 21, 2024.
