Salvador Martinez III was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on June 20, 2024. Born in Phoenix, Arizona on February 27th, 1987, Salvador leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. He is survived by his cherished sons, Julian and Jeremiah, mother of his children Melissa Blanco, his mother Katie Calderon-Martinez, his father Sal Martinez Jr., his brother Nicholas Martinez (Manori), his nephew Nick Jr., and niece Kennedy Rose. He is also remembered fondly by his grandparents Antonia “Toni” Calderon, Sal Martinez Sr., Linda Padilla Trevizo (Ray), and countless loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Salvador was a very special person with a BIG heart who touched so many people throughout his lifetime. His infectious smile could light up a room in an instant. A graduate of St. Mary’s High School, he formed lifelong brotherhoods he deeply valued. Salvador was a Hero and Warrior to many, demonstrating incredible strength and compassion. As a teenager, after being diagnosed with Leukemia he insisted on helping to orchestrate several blood drives to “refill the shelves” as he said, “in order to help others in need”. As an adult Salvador again conquered cancer (Non-Hopkins Lymphoma) providing his family and friends with yet another miracle to celebrate.
What gave Salvador’s life the most purpose was spending time with his family, especially his two “Superhero” sons whom he loved with all his heart and soul. Salvador will be “PROFOUNDLY” missed by his family and friends.
Services for Salvador will be held at St. Mary’s Basilica Catholic Church, 231 N. 3rd Street, on Saturday, June 29th in downtown Phoenix. The visitation will begin at 9:30a.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 10:30a.m. and a Mass to be celebrated at 11a.m. He will then be escorted and laid to eternal rest at St. Francis Cemetery in Phoenix.
