Robert “Bob” Sapanaro

65, of Scottsdale, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2015 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Anyone who knew Bob knows he gave it quite a fight. Bob was born in Cleveland, Ohio where he attended Mayfield Heights High School and went on to be a proud member of the Ohio State University football team from 1968 – 1972. He was part of the National Championship team in 1970. After moving to Arizona he began a 40 year career with New York Life Insurance, where he qualified for top councils 33 times. He loved a good cigar, a perfect Manhattan, golfing with his buddies, Sunday dinner, but most of all he loved his family and friends. We picture you finally getting to tee it up again in heaven. We love you and will miss you forever. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Janice (Antonucci), daughters Michelle and Kristen, son Jeff, 3 grandchildren Berkley, Enzo and Dean and his siblings Mike, Rick and Michelle. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 18, 2015 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home. Donations can be made in his memory to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
