It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sean Allen McCarty, who passed away into God’s heavenly arms on February 11, 2025. Sean was born on September 22, 1965. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, and boyfriend. He loved our family very much.
Many of you may not know this but Sean was gifted with athleticism, art, singing, dancing, and he was gifted with numerous other talents. He played baseball, basketball and was a star on the gymnastic team while he was in high school. He had an intense competitive spirit. He would win consistently in various talent shows, and he displayed his talents for singing and dancing whilst he was in grammar school and high school Sean attended St. Mary’s Catholic High School and graduated from Camelback High School. He was so proud to walk across the stage at Northern Arizona University with his bachelor’s degree on May 14, 2016.
Sean’s favorite thing to do was to cook and honestly to eat. He worked as a chef in various restaurants in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. He enjoyed cooking diverse cuisines and would be thoroughly pleased when the family sampled his food and awarded him with accolades. Food was something that kept a smile on his face! Furthermore, Sean delighted in fishing and just enjoying the beauty of nature. He felt at home by the lake, river or just relaxing on the beach, breathing in the sights and sounds of the moving water and marveling at God’s creatures surrounding him. Observing the vast waters of the ocean provided him with a sense of inner peace.
Sean was proceeded in death by his parents Leon and Betty McCarty and his older brother Mark. He is survived by his sister Kristy, his nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles and numerous cousins and his girlfriend Sheila.
Sean will be greatly missed.
