James A. Sellick
James A. Sellick, 77, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 29, 2018, at his home in Phoenix, AZ. Born October 12, 1941, in Portland, Maine, he was the son of James W. and Minnie (Acorn) Sellick.
Jim grew up in South Portland, Maine and was a 1960 graduate of South Portland High School and went on to attend Gray’s Portland Business College. He had a strong work ethic and enjoyed a long successful career in mortgage banking. He was employed with Maine Savings Bank, Citibank, Bank One and was the former President of the American Institute of Banking. He retired from Amera Mortgage as a Senior Vice President of Mortgage.
Jim enjoyed traveling, hiking, golf and was an avid reader. He loved animals; adopting many in his lifetime. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and was loved and respected by everyone that knew him.
Jim is survived by his wife Barbara of Phoenix, AZ; his two children with Julie Sellick (Sinclair), his wife who preceded him in death; Stephen E. Sellick and his husband Alan J. Kick of Cloverdale, California, and Rhonda L. Dolley and her husband Jason of Gorham, Maine; his granddaughter Alyssa Lee Dolley of Gorham, Maine; and his sister Gloria Plummer and her husband Richard of South Portland, Maine.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85018.
