Sharon Marie Cassavant

Sharon Marie Cassavant, 79, died on Monday, January 29, 2024, in Phoenix, AZ. She was a Phoenix native, born on February 25, 1944, to Herbert S. and Bernice L. (Belbaze) McNeill. Sharon was a graduate of Xavier College Preparatory, class of 1962. 

Shortly after graduating high school, Sharon married the love of her life, Joseph Cassavant. Sharon enjoyed volunteering, entertaining, and traveling; cruising was her favorite way to see the world. She loved to follow the local sports teams, and for many years, Joe and Sharon were season ticket holders for ASU football games. After ten years of marriage, Sharon and Joe, working together, started an aerospace machining company. Together, they grew the company into a successful business, Cassavant Machining Inc. Her husband, Joe, developed the operations, while she ran the office. 

Sharon is survived by her three children, Angela, Joseph Jr. (Jennifer), and Edward (Elissa). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shawna (Eric), Alysson (Chris), Joseph III, Ashley, Jessica (Bobby), Jacob, Bradley (deceased), Lynley, Hadley, and Raeley. Her great- grandchildren include Nathan, Dylan, and Addison. Sharon is also survived by her two brothers, Joseph and Robert. Furthermore, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and her parents.

A visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, with a Rosary at 5:00pm, on Monday, February 5th, 2024, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4715 N. Central Ave, Phoenix. Interment to follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
