Norma Jean (Sipe) LoPiccolo entered eternal life Saturday, January 14, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, including Donald V. LoPiccolo, her husband of 64 years. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at a Funeral Mass at 1pm Wednesday, January 18, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix. Private interment will be at a later date at St. Francis Cemetery. A native of York, PA, Norma Jean moved to Phoenix with her family in 1968. She was an active volunteer at Xavier College Preparatory while her daughters Vickie LoPiccolo Jennett and Kathie Sipe LoPiccolo attended school there. An accomplished seamstress, she also served for many years as a member of the Christ Child Society, making layettes and blankets for infants. She and Don shared a love of history, creating a replica of an eighteenth century Pennsylvania farmhouse in Arcadia. Norma Jean’s faith, family, friends, flowers and fashion were the hallmarks of her long and happy life. The daughter of Genevieve (Fink) Sipe and Walter William Sipe, she was born August 1, 1931 in York County, PA, where she graduated from York High School and attended Grove City College in Grove City, PA. On December 27, 1952, she and Don were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in York, PA. She is survived by her husband; two daughters; son-in-law Niles Jennett; three grandsons, Willy Jennett (wife Ashley), Patrick Jennett (wife Maegan) and Joseph Ladd LoPiccolo Enders; and five great grandchildren, Hooper, Van, Zoe, James and Sonny. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014, or St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ 85018.
